Phoenix blasts off with NASA hopes running high!

Today NASA blasted off Phoenix lander off to Mars,on a nine month journey during which the the Phoenix Mars Lander will travel 680 million Kms over nine months and land on the Red Planet on May 25 2008.NASA's hopes are running high and hopes that the success of the Phoenix mission may cover up some of the unpalatable stories of NASA that had hit the public of late.where to start, hmmm,i guess we can always start off when the misake was made in the metric measurements of one of the landers that led to the destruction of one of the earlier Mars landers.from there,we can always go on to the Columbia explosion.
NASA has been dogged by one goof up after another and of late they have had to face some damaging public media reports like the 'diaper' astronaut to the 'drunken' astronauts.one can only speculate that NASA's standard or rather the standard that it sets for itself and its astronauts is fast going downhill.the Phoenix mission is mainly to try ad prove that life did exist once upon a time in the Red planet.it is due to land in the polar regions of Mars and lets all hope and pray for NASA's sake that all goes well.any failure in this mission may have very serious consequences for the survival of NASA itself!
