Bombed again - Iraq?

Today if someone told me that Iraq was bombed again, that bit of news would not really shock me. Truth be told, such news have become so common that for most of us, it would not even get a 'lift of the eyebrows'. We as humans are are the only species that is so capable of raining destruction on this level at its own species. Iraq has not seen peace and security since the regime of Saddam Hussein and that is something that we all have to accept one way or the other. True, he may have been a dictator of the worst kind, testing chemical weapons on his own citizens. But, Iraq enjoyed a state of peace and security under him that has not been seen since then.
Now with Turkey all set to invade Iraq under the pretext of dealing with Kurdish insurgents based in Iraq, things are bound to get even hotter. Of course, in this process, we can pretty much forget what little of peace and security that remains in Iraq today. The United states is doing its best to not let that happen, but that is not going to be easy especially as they already have a bit too much on their plates right now. Further more, Turkish soldiers are already present in Iraq today under the guise of making sure that peace and stability prevails in Iraq. Well, it seems that they have finally decided to rock the boat with the Turkish parliament voting overwhelmingly in favor of sending additional Turkish troops just to deal with the Kurdish insurgents. To Turkey they may be Kurdish insurgents, but to the rest of the world they are Iraqi citizens and as such, the rest of the world will view this as an invasion.
Who ever said that the Middle east is a hot place to live in, was obviously making an understatement. Recently there were a spate of car bombs, suicide bombers all directed at the Iraqi police and the security forces, but many innocent Iraqi's died in the process. More innocent Iraqi blood was spilled. Is it any wonder that many Iraqi's are fleeing Iraq to neighbouring provinces? When the question of life itself is held in doubt, one would most definitely would not want to be living there any more. But the sad truth of all this is that Iraq is being torn apart by terrorist activities against the Iraqi security forces as well as sectarian violence. And things are only being made worse by American apathy. If the United states were to withdraw right now, things would only get a whole deal worse. Instead the United states should bring in the United nations peace keepers and make sure that peace an stability can reign once again in this bloody land and that every citizen can live in peace and harmony. I know that is easier said than done, but that is the right method to deal with the Iraq situation.
