Bush and Roh go sour!

The recent Asia pacific summit ended on a sour note for both the United States president as well as for the president of South Korea.while they were having a press opp session,Roh Moo-hyun,the president of South Korea requested Bush to end the Korean war.if you remember this war is actually still going on as only a truce was declared at the end of this one and no treaty of any kind was signed.the president Bush made it clear to mr.Roh that he cannot contemplate it until and unless the North Korean leader,Kim Jong Il has totally given up his weapons and his drive for nuclear weapons.well, for some reason,mr.Roh's translator was not doing a good job as mr.Roh repeatedly asked Bush to clarify his position which naturally would have been irritating to anyone.but of course the question that is begging to be asked is why this query and why now all of a sudden?North Korea is still aggressive and shows no sign of changing its posture vis-a-vis South Korea and the rest of the world.anyway the exchange is being labelled as a translator problem and not much is being read into it.but i am sure that the question 'why now?' is going through the minds of many of the policy think tanks in the United States!
