A swim in the North?

The recent newsmaker for the environment is the news of a U.K guy who plans to swim in the north pole.we all know how low the temp gets up there.it gets so low that even the penguins whose bodies are covered by a thick layer of fat have to huddle together for warmth.it is so cold up there that certian parts of the male anatomy would freeze up and you could probably use them as marbles.now this guy wants to swim there!?!
Well, when asked about his motives,he said that he wanted to draw attention to the environmental issues facing the world today.kudos to him for that.but i think that the just drawing attention to it alone is not going to help our Earth.i think that we should all instill a deep sense of respect for Earth and its natural resources in our children from a very young age.in other words,it is not only us who needs to be educated as far as our environment goes but also our children.any change can only be substantial if it starts from the groundroots.right now,we cal all start by REUSING the same plastic bags when we go out to buy something else or better yet us something else instead of plastic!what do you say?
