Bhutto all set to make a comeback!

Benazir Bhutto has already departed from Dubai for Karachi and is due to arrive here in the next half hour or so. Already the PPP supporters are all set to welcome her with a bang and are busy preparing for her arrival. It is quite evident that the ex-prime minister of Pakistan is still quite a popular leader and one can see it from the way that the preparations are being made to welcome her. This arrival of Bhutto is not what Musharraf had wanted. He had wanted the entire political crisis in Pakistan to be over before he welcomed her back. In simple words he had wanted the Supreme court to declare him the President of Pakistan before he welcomed Bhutto back. But as they are so fond of saying .'man proposes and god disposes' and whether Musharraf likes it or not, Bhutto is returning to Pakistan for good!

Media held guilty of contempt!

Today saw the journalists of the Mid-day in the dock, held guilty of conmtempt charges for havinmg published stories of a defamatory mature against the former Chief Justice of India Y K Sabharwal.it seems that this has come as a shock to many of the media family but i fail to see why they should be so shocked.i mean,if you make defamatory remarks in print against the serving or retired judge of the Supreme court of India, then you are just asking for it.what is more they did not allow the ex-judge a chance to defend hmself in public.if he or she is guilty then the law should be allowed to take its eventual course.labelling a personin public is not the way to go about it and i for one, definitely expect something better from the Fourth Estate!

Nawaz shariff to return to Pakistan?

The position of the current Pakistani president has gotten even tougher with the Supreme court telling the current government of Pakistan not to interfere with Nawaz shariff returning to Pakistan in any manner whatsoever.what is more troubling to Musharraf is the announcement by Shariff that he will indeed return to Pakistan and fight the elections.things are not looking so great for Musharraf.along with this is the pressure by the United States on Musharraf to hold free and fair elections.one thing is for sure,no one would want to be in Musharraf's place right now!

Nawaz sharif goes to Supreme court!

Things are getting quite dicey for the pakistani president Musharaff as his arch rival Nawaz shariff moves the Supreme court for his return to this homeland.as we all know that things between the two of them was never pleasant to begin with and things deteriorated very fast from there onwards leading to the failed bid to finish of Musharraf.of course, once Musharraf gained control he had replied Nawaz shariff with the same coin.i would venture to guess that being out in prison under the Musharraf regime must have been torturous for Nawaz shariff but that all ended with his exile to the middle east.
As things go,the wolves in Pakistan have started howling for blood and this time around it is the paksitani president who is facing a revolt of sorts.things are fast unravelling with his own military advisers advocating a resignation of sorts for Musharaff.will he take that advice seriously?we can only wait and see.in the meanwhile, the Supreme court may well set the cat amongst the pigeons by allowing Nawaz shariff to come back.it sure is going to be an interesting time for Pakistani politics!

musharaff,pakistan,nawaz shariff,
