Frankenstein, eat your heart out!

It seems that the vision of Frankenstein is becoming more of a reality these days than you would imagine it to be so. Recently, a group of Franken -tists have managed to make a dead heart beat again by infusing it with live cells. The heart in question was of course that of a rat, and they managed to get it beating again.
This does raise wonderful possibilities for the thousands of patients suffering from heart ailments, but it also brings into focus, the question of how far are we as a species willing to go, in order to achieve immortality?
There are, of course, certain things that we live to the divine. But now, with such advancements in science and namely medicine, can we tell the difference between curing and trying to play god? Is this right?
This is one question that has no easy answer,no one side to it. In the end, all it comes to is a matter of belief, god or medicine!

34 Killed and 3 UK troops in Iraq dead!

Car bomb blew up 25 odd people to bits at a busy intersection in Baghdad today.the militant attacks are of late targetting the common man.nowdays it is quite risky to even venture to a street corner to just buy vegetables.you never know if the car silently cruising alongside you is a human bomb.i guess as far as Iraq goes, car truly kills.that was not the end of carnage for Iraq today.about 20 beheaded bodies were found floating downstream, the bodies were probably dumped there by the militants.
And to make matters worse, three U.K troops were killed by a roadside bomb.all in all today is certainly just the same like any other day for Iraq.when is the security for the common man going to improve?that certainly seems to be more of a mirage than a reality especially of late!

36 killed in Iraq today!

Today the death count went up by 36 in Iraq.the violence seems to be fast spiralling out of control.with the U.S and the Iraqi forces continuing their operations to the north and the south of Baghdad to hunt the militants down, about 36 Iraqi citizens were killed today as a result of these operations.
What is becoming more and more obvious is that a very large chunk of the Iraqi populace are being killed either as a result of being caught in the crossfire between the militants and the U.S forces or as a result of 'over enthusiastic' action on the part of the Iraqi and the U.S lead forces.either way you look at it,the very population that the United States led alliance swore to protect are fast disappearing into their graves.is this what the war is all about?should not the iraqi people be allowed to live in some semblance of peace and democracy?personally, although i have never been to Iraq i think that the Iraqi citizens had more peace and security under Saddam Husein than they do under the current Iraqi government!

U.S army man's body floats down the Euphrates!

Today an U.S army man's body was found floating down the Euphrates river just south of Baghdad.the person in question was found to have been shot on the head and chest.when the officials were asked about this, they denied all of this.about three U.S armymen were kidnapped while they were on thier patrol of baghdad.this person whose body nwas found is thought to be one of them.what really troubles me is the fact that first of all that not one but three army men were kidnapped in Baghdad with such ease.then the case of the officials not saying anything concrete, neither confirming that the dead person is an U.S army man,one of the three who had been kidnapped in Baghdad recently or that the dead person is not an U.S army man.do the top honchos in the U.S army realise the stree and trouble they are putting the families of the three kidnapped soldiers through?do they realise that the three families are right now praying to god that this dead person who was found on the Euphrates is not their son?does the army realise the emotional stress that they are putting the family through?i just hope that all of this confusion is resolved really soon!
