South Korea bombs Pakistan! 135 killed!

Yesterday, the Ex-prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto was supposed to give a speech at a public meeting. But on her way to see the resting place of Mr.Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, she was attacked by the Taliban. Musharraf has placed the country in the middle of a crisis and he badly needs Benazir Bhutto to give his regime a shred of legitimacy. In such circumstances, he had worked out a deal with Benazir Bhutto along with consultations with the United states. It is under such circumstances that Bhutto was allowed to come back to Pakistan and participate in the coming elections. But the Taliban, knowing that any attack on Bhutto would undermine Musharraf planned ahead for this attack. As far as the Taliban are concerned, they would like nothing better than to either attack Musharraf or undermine his legitimacy. That is why they have bombed Benazir Bhutto's convoy. Bhutto was attacked yesterday but luckily for her, she managed to escape it in one piece. But unfortunately, the same cannot be said for her supporters out of which nearly 135 have died. Musharraf has called the security agencies to file their report on the blasts within 48 hours. But questions are being asked and not many honest answers are forth coming.
I am sure that many of you had heard of the South Koreans who were kidnapped by the Taliban some time back. Well, they were all released after a hefty payment of ransom by the South Korean government. The money was used by the Taliban to acquire even more deadly weapons and bomb materials. Since this is the same group that has attacked Benazir Bhutto in this cowardly manner, the South Koreans are indirectly responsible for this blast. The whole world had come together in the United Nations to formulate a policy of 'no negotiations' when it came to dealing with the terrorists. That policy had been adhered to until now. Now we all know what the ransom money that the South Koreans had paid the Taliban was used for, it was used to buy materials for the bombs. It is the South Koreans who will have to answer to the families of the dead Pakistanis today. Do they really have an answer for them?? That is why the title of this post is the way it is!

Germany cracks down on terror plots!

One of the first news that i had heard was that the German police had arrested some people on suspicion of plotting future terrorist attacks.i have to say that as a result of such terror attacks the value of civil liberties is going down drastically day by day.every country needs to deal with terrorist attacks on a war footing but it should not come at the cost of civil liberties.
The Australia-Haneef episode clearly highlights how easy it is to make mistakes.people in authority often make mistakes and then they make even worse mistakes in trying to cover up the original mistakes.that said,although on the outset it may seem that arresting someone on the basis of just suspicion may seem like a certain community is being targeted but the reality is that people of that community are the ones who are indulging in such terrorist attacks.what is more,they are using 'terrorism' as an ideology and often madras's or schools of religious thought,which should have been preaching tolerance,just do the opposite and pretty much tell their followers to attack their neighbours.
I am sorry to say this but the prevailing opinion in the world at large is that people belonging to such communities are the ones that should be put under the scanner and they should be viewed with suspicion.it is sad that it has come to this.but if you were to take a world wide poll asking everyone as to which community should they blame for the terrorist attacks,most of them would say that one community.as you can see,i am not naming that community here because i believe in being fair.but if you were to take account of all terrorist attacks all around the world,you will see that most or nearly all of them have been perpetrated by one community and all in the name of religion.if this state of affairs is to continue,then all that these so called terrorists will accomplish is uniting the entire world not just against them but also against their community as well.it will not be long before the world in general starts asking the question,'if members of one community is making such attacks and taking Innocent lives,why should that community be given any privileges?'.
As you can see,the world is not a safe place as it once was and civil liberties are not that valued as it should have been.this scourge of terrorism is shaping the world in ways that both the terrorists as well as the world in general did not envisage.it is high time that governments all over the world went on a war footing.in conclusion i would like to state that what the Berliner's have done with regard to the recent attacks is correct and that is what we should all do.instead of waiting for people to attack us,let us attack them first.undertake an investigation of sorts and when we have obtained concrete evidence of their terrorist beliefs and hatred,act upon it and take them in.most of the civil liberties that we value so much may have already lost its sheen,but at the very least let us save one of the most basic principles of all democracies that 'every citizen is guaranteed safety and security in their own country!"

Hyderabad blasts-more terror?

This is indeed sad to see so many people and their families in such misery.my heart goes out to all of the victims and their families.this is one cowardly act and the people who have committed this crime should be made to face what they have done.the perpetrators are such cowards,they do not even have the courage to give themselves up.it is high time that the government took a very firm step with all militants and shows them no mercy whatsoever.
The recent trend has shown that the infiltration has not stopped and what is also worrying is that there are so many misguided youth who undertake such cowardly acts.whoever they may be i totally condemn them and pray to god that they will be made to pay in more ways than one!

Three British troops killed by a U.S bomb?

Times like this one will surely be excused for feeling like thumping someone.it is bad enough that the militants are taking every chance to take pot shots at the allied forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.but to make huge mistakes like this which has resulted in the death of three people who were there to uphold the peace and stability and to protect the innocent Iraqi citizens.well,with mistakes like this i do not think that we need the militants to kill any troops since we are doing such a good job of it ourselves!

Parliment in shambles!

Well it certainly seems that even the iraqi parliment is not safe from the suicide bombers.recetnly a suicide bomber blew himself up inside trhe iraqi parliment.i guess that this is what they mean by "blasted policies".
either way the iraqi security arrangements are in complete shambles as the iraqi parliment was supposedly to be under a high security zone.frankly,things are going from bad to worse in iraq!
